Sam Wuerfel
Artist
Born with an innate desire to discover her place in this life, Sam began painting in 2019. Exploring new creative endeavors was certainly not unusual for her, however visual expression through paint was uncharted territory. Thankfully the universe delivered to Sam a mentor and friend in the form of a wise and masterful contemporary abstract artist. For 6 months, Sam apprenticed with Grace at her gallery and studio in Sarasota, Florida and was instructed on abstract application, complimentary color theory, crafting in medium and so much more.

Since then Sam has developed a strong studio practice, actively selling work via social media and word of mouth. She is a native of Michigan based in Sarasota.

Sam is a proud member of S/ART/Q Artist Collective, Sarasota Studio Artists Association and the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County

"I like to describe myself as a kinetic artist, exploring the movements of feelings and moments one experiences in this life through paint. Strong in complementary color theory, high in contrast and seeking a heavy emotional response, I work to break down forms through intentional application, sculpting my work on canvas. Influenced by cubism, impressionism and artists from the postmodern era such as Lee Krasner and Helen Frankenthaler, my work is abstract, emotional and full of all the colors."
